Did you see me, Jim Fassbinder, on SyFy Channel’s TAPS Ghost Hunters TV show where I guide Jason and Grant and the whole crew on an investigation of Alcatraz prison? You saw that I had a great time with the whole TAPS crew. And I think we confirmed the fact that Alcatraz has ghosts!

E-mail FAIL

I’ve learned that I don’t receive every e-mail sent to me and

I DO REPLY, I really do, to every e-mail I receive,

(unless it’s a reply to my reply of course).

I really wish I could fix this e-mail fail, but it’s like there’s another ghost in my machine not playing well with my resident ghosts!

If you e-mail me just to ask if there will be a Ghost Hunt on a particular date, and it’s not a Tuesday, a holiday or very rarely a day I absolutely need to take off, you’ll always find that closed date posted here in Updates. Otherwise there WILL be a Ghost Hunt that night. A telephone call to 415-922-5590 will easily confirm everything.

Okay, the Ghost Hunt closes a few other nights; Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas, and New Year's Eve. If I need to close any other night you'll see that here and hear it on my phone message too. The Ghost Hunt is open and operating other holidays like Valentine's Day, Easter, Labor Day and most definitely on Halloween night!

The San Francisco Ghost Hunt assembles in the lobby of the beautiful Queen Anne Hotel, 1590 Sutter Street, corner of Sutter and Octavia, at 7:00 pm six nights a week, closed only Mondays and Tuesdays.

Reservations are not required.

Dear Jim,

Just wanted to drop you a line about my story at the Queen Anne.

You may remember us we went on your tour just last week (wed. july 18). Our 9yr. daughter Anna was with us & she let you know I had seen Mary Lake. Of course I did not know it at that time. Until you began to tell us her story. So here is what happened.......

Just to fill you in about our Anna: She is a academically advanced child & loves school. Just about a month ago she was diagnosed with a head tumor that is why we were in San Francisco so she could go to UCSF Zion cancer center for further tests and as we shared with you the tumor has been found to be benign, thank god.

Anyway, when I was searching for a hotel by the hospital the Queen Anne just kept coming up. Even the hospitals list of hotels had it listed. I called AAA for a hotel listing they said that they didn't have one very close by. So after searching for what seemed to be days for a well priced Hotel we ended up at the Queen Anne.

Our room was 209 at the top of the stairs. The first thing I noticed was a very cold spot at the top of the stairs. However, I put it off as a window being open or something else. We went on about our first day just like any tourist we went to Japantown and guess what there just two blocks away from the Queen Anne is a Best Western Hotel AAA approved too! Ok, so maybe that isn't so weird but the next few days really put it all together for us.

On our first night (mon.16) we all went to bed early Anna’s doctors appointment was on tuesday. It was right about 2am when I suddenly sat up in bed to a ice cold room. I wasn't scared the feeling was very calming. When I saw something come past me as if it had come through the door. It looked like a soft cloud moving gently across the room going over to Anna’s bed by the window. I did not see any kind of definition until what looked like a hand came out and placed itself on Anna’s head. Then it seemed to turn and look at me. I heard a voice say "she is going to be fine don't worry". Then the cloud just faded away. The next morning I told my husband as well as Anna about it. That afternoon at the doctors office we got the good news about the tumor. I know that Mary did not heal Anna she just wanted to give a worried mother some reinsurance.

We had seen your tour go through the hotel the night before so we all decided to go on the tour so we could hear about the Queen Annes history. Once you began to tell the story about Mary Lake and the house (school) everything just fell into place. Thank you so much for your kindness with Anna she says to tell you Hi!!!!

We will be back in December just to see if the tumor has changed any and we hope to see you again at the hotel. Oh, I bet you know what we all wished for with the voodoo doll. We will let you know what happens.
